FROM SCRAP TO PRODUCT

Eleek Masa Hardware Process

  1. Aluminum storm windows and screen doors are salvaged from deconstruction sites and donated to The ReBuilding Center.
  2. The ReBuilding Center separates the aluminum from glass and other materials and then separates out the cleanest aluminum for Eleek (no paint or caulk, etc.)
  3. Eleek picks up the scrap and delivers it to one of two local foundries.
  4. The local foundry melts the scrap and pours it into molds to make ELeek's Masa cabinet hardware.
  5. The rough castings are brought back to Eleek where they are ground, tumbled, drilled and tapped and patina'd as needed.
